Sensex, Nifty in green; pharma, consumer durables stocks gain

The broader market is out-performing the BSE benchmark index, the Midcap and Smallcap indices have gained 0.5 percent each at 10,618 and 10,767, respectively. The breadth is positive morning deals – out of 1,947 stocks traded on the BSE 1,129 stocks have advanced, while 769 stocks have declined.

The market has trimmed most of its early losses, due to fresh demand in power, energy, consumer durables and IT shares.The BSE Sensex which touched a low of 25,687, is now up 76 points at 26,109 points.The NSE Nifty is up 37 points at 7,918.
The broader market is out-performing the BSE benchmark index, the Midcap and Smallcap indices have gained 0.5 percent each at 10,618 and 10,767, respectively.Among sectoral indices, the BSE FMCG and Bankex indices are down 0.3-0.5 percent each at 7,681 and 19,634, respectively.

On the other, the BSE Power index has spurted over a percent at 1,820. The IT, Oil & Gas and Consumer Durables index have advanced almost a percent each.The Realty and Healthcare indices have gained over 0.5 percent each.The breadth is positive morning deals – out of 1,947 stocks traded on the BSE 1,129 stocks have advanced, while 769 stocks have declined.Among Sensex stocks – Hero MotoCorp has plunged over 3 percent at Rs. 2,400. BHEL has slipped over 2 percent each at Rs. 227.

HDFC, Vedanta, Cipla, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank have dropped over a percent each.On the other hand, Wipro and ONGC jumped 2.4 percent each at Rs. 555 and Rs. 236, respectively.Lupin has spurted almost 2 percent at Rs. 1,864. NTPC and Coal India advanced 1.5 percent each at Rs. 121 and Rs. 359, respectively.Bajaj Auto gained over a percent at Rs. 2,232 and Reliance has added almost a percent at Rs. 860.
