BSE Sensex opens higher, while the Nifty 50 trades above 10,100. Here are the latest updates from the markets
The BSE Sensex opened higher on Thursday against the previous session’s closing. The broader NSE’s Nifty, too, rose in the morning hours. The Indian rupee was trading at a one-week low against the US dollar, tracking losses in the Asian currencies markets. The shares of Sun Pharma, Axis Bank and Reliance Industries Ltd rose, whereas the shares of Wipro and M&M fell.
10.22am: BSE Sensex trades higher by 102 points, or 0.32%, to 32,289, while the Nifty 50 rises 30 points, or 0.30%, to 10,110.
10.17am: InterGlobe Aviation Ltd falls 1% to Rs1,186.55. The company will conduct a share sale to institutional investors on Friday that will raise for the company and its founders as much as Rs3,945 crore. The company set a price range on Wednesday of Rs1,125-1,175 a share for sale of up to 33.6 million shares, comprising of 22.4 million new shares and 11.2 million existing shares
10.14am: Shares of Cyient Ltd trade 0.73% down at Rs522.05. Cyient said it has signed an agreement to sell its 49% stake in Infotech Aerospace Services Inc. (IASI) to Pratt & Whitney, a unit of US-based United Technologies Corp.
9.30am: BSE Sensex opens higher by 89 points, or 0.28%, to 32,276, while the Nifty 50 rises 36 points, or 0.36%, to 10,106.
