The INDIA VIX is up 4.53% at 11.64. BSE Sensex is trading at 32419 up 109 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10038 up 23 points.

Nifty has been hovering around its previous close of 10014 level in the morning hour.   Its immediate support level may be placed at a psychologically important mark of 10000.   On the upside, if the index holds above 10050, then it may have the resistance level of 10100.   There were 610 advances, 464 declines and 293 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positive undertone.

Metal stocks have been gaining grounds in the opening hour. Jindal Steel is top gainer in the index trading at Rs 154.35 per share, up by 3%. Tata Steel is top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 565.15 per share, up by 2.4%. Vedanta, SAIL and JSW Steel were also up by over 1%.

At 10 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 32419 up 109 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 10038 up 23 points. A total of 25 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 9 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.   The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.12% at 15348, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.19% at 16102.

Some buying activity is seen in Energy, Capital Goods and Metal while FMCG, Healthcare, IT and Telecom are showing weakness on BSE.   Tata Steel, Eicher Motors, ICICI Bank, Vedanta Limited, IOC are among the gainers, whereas Dr Reddy, Sun Pharma, ITC, Bajaj Auto and HCL Technologies are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.
