Sensex, Nifty off day’s high; ICICI & ITC drag, Sun Pharma up 2%

The INDIA VIX is down 3.77% at 13.18. BSE Sensex is trading at 28973.10 up 108.39 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8966.20 up 39.30 points.
Bank Nifty index is trading at 20946.95 levels, up by 78.50 points or 0.38%. The index touched its intraday high of 21011.90 levels, up by 143.45 points or 0.68%. IndusInd Bank and Yes Bank are trading away from their 52-week high by almost 2%. MRF Ltd. from automobile sector, is trading at Rs 51530 per share, up by Rs 1762.15 per share or 3.54%.
Jamna Auto Industries Limited is trading at Rs 214.20 per share, up by Rs 14.10 per share or 7.05%.
At 3 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 28973.10 up 108.39 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8966.20 up 39.30 points. A total of 43 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 14 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.41% at 13562.34, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.26% at 13608.72. Some buying activity is seen in Finance, Information Technology, Telecom and Banking while Utilities, Oil & Gas, Power and FMCG are showing weakness on BSE.
Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel, TCS, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra are among the gainers, whereas Reliance, Grasim, AuroPharma, Axis Bank, NTPC and Bosch Limited are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.
