Recovery in financials, midcaps helps Sensex, Nifty cut losses; Yes Bank up 2%
Midcaps have seen a sharp recovery and the Nifty Midcap index is currently is up nearly 1 percent.
Shares have erased a big chunk of their losses, with the Nifty trading above 10,550. The Sensex is near 35,200.
The Sensex is down 61.18 points or 0.17% at 35176.50, and the Nifty down 9.80 points or 0.09% at 10588.60. The market breadth is narrow as 792 shares advanced, against a decline of 684 shares, while 64 shares were unchanged.
Yes Bank, Adani Ports, and Bharti Infratel are the top gainers, while Bharti Airtel, Wipro, and Hindalco lost the most.
Midcaps have seen a sharp recovery and the Nifty Midcap index is currently is up nearly 1 percent. The Nifty Infra index is up over half a percent. Financials have cut their losses and trading flat.

Voltas recovers sharply: Shares of Voltas staged a sharp intraday recovery and were up a percent as investors continued to read into its results for September quarter.
The stock touched an intraday high of Rs 524.50 and an intraday low of Rs 505.00.
Citi has maintained its buy call on Voltas with a target at Rs 724 apiece.
The global research firm said that the UCP (unitary cooling products) segment performance during the quarter was weak on the back of industry-wide headwinds.

Market opens It’s a weak start on Friday after it saw a strong Muhurat session. The Nifty has given up 10,600, while the Sensex has fallen over 200 points.
Majority of sectors are trading in the red, with banks, automobiles, consumption, and metal names seeing the most amount of pain, while pharmaceuticals is the sole gainer. In the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap is down 0.20 percent.
The Sensex is down 209.46 points or 0.59% at 35028.22, while the Nifty is lower by 50.50 points or 0.48% at 10547.90. The market breadth is negative as 361 shares advanced, against a decline of 540 shares, while 42 shares were unchanged.
Shares of Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank, HPCL and IOC are the top gainers, while Bharti Airtel and HDFC have lost the most.
